51ÂÒÂ× strengthens its partnership with MSP's Motor Carrier Officer Recruit School

51ÂÒÂ× police academy students practice dusting and lifting fingerprints

Through a new transfer agreement, Michigan State Police (MSP) Motor Carrier Officer (MCO) Recruit School completers already have a third of their degree complete.

Through a new agreement established between 51ÂÒÂ× and MSP’s MCO Recruit School, students are pre-approved to essentially skip seven required classes in Delta’s Criminal Justice Law Enforcement with Basic Police Training program — 21 of 66 credits toward an associate’s degree.

Waved courses include:

  • CJ 110 – Introduction to Criminal Justice
  • CJ 112 – Police Operations
  • CJ 271 – Criminal Law
  • CJ 101 – Police Recruit Training
  • LWA 280 – Self Defense/Fitness
  • LWT 175 – Advanced First Aid & Emergency Care
  • OAT 152 – Police Report Writing

Earning a degree in law enforcement can open the door to greater opportunities for advancement into leadership roles. At 51ÂÒÂ×, criminal justice ranks among the top 10 completed programs and the top 10 programs for transfer students. Through this new agreement, not only are students fast-tracked through the program, but they save thousands of dollars in tuition along the way.
