51ĀŅĀ× is pleased to announce scholarship funding for up to $7,000 for RNs (51ĀŅĀ× ADN graduates) to use toward a BSN at Saginaw Valley State University (SVSU).
80 scholarships have been awarded and 20 remain.
New Delta to SVSU transfer agreement
51ĀŅĀ× ADN graduates who successfully completed the NCLEX exam to become a Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) are eligible for the program.
RN students then transfer to SVSU's RN to BSN "3+1" completion program. Students can transfer up to 93 credits from Delta toward their BSN.
State funding
The Delta, SVSU collaboration aligns with a State of Michigan funded initiative to increase opportunities for nurses to complete their bachelor of science in nursing degrees seamlessly.
Additionally, students completing this pathway will see significant cost savings after having completed three years at 51ĀŅĀ×.
The pathway will allow Delta RN graduates to transfer community college coursework that meets bachelor degree requirements, gain nursing expertise and training from faculty from both institutions, and conveniently complete coursework on Deltaās campus.
This partnership aims to increase BSN attainment, access and affordability for future BSN students and strengthen our local nursing workforce.
āThis initiative will meet an important need for our local health systems seeking nurses with BSN training and expertise,ā said Daisy McQuiston, professor and nursing program coordinator. āWe are excited to leverage the strengths of both institutions to provide an additional opportunity for RNs to complete their BSN and to positively impact the community, healthcare partners, and the Great Lakes Bay Region.ā
